Summertime!

Here I am at 11am on a Tuesday sitting on my couch. Friday were our last exams. I went to work this morning to work on grades and pack my office. I roasted as soon as I got there-everyone's rooms were closed all weekend, so it was HOT! I decided to start packing while it was a little cooler. That got old and hot really quickly. So I moved onto grades. But I cannot do that since the network is down again. That is the new thing. Dan is working like crazy and it is not cooperating with him.

So I called some parents (I had two girls fail who have to go to summer school. And you may think I am too mean to fail someone for the semester. BUT they both had averages less than 60%. You cannot really cheat that!) Then I wandered and talked to some people. And when I got back to my office, I decided it was way too hot. So after a rough, long 2 hours, I brought my ittle box of stuff and headed home. Now I am home, but I am supposed to be working on grades. See what a good job I am doing. I just want to say, YEAH FOR SUMMER AND LAZINESS! Have fun at work everyone!

Happy Wednesday! Only 2 more days!

Only 2 more days and three exams left. I am watching the girls right now, obviously bored out of my mind! Hopefully blogging will keep me entertained for awhile.

I finish school around 12 on Friday. I have not done anything in the house since my mom's surgery. Everything is a wreck. I cannot see the floor in my room. My dad and I worked to replace the fence for 6 hours yesterday, and all we did was move the crappy fence from one place to another. It was not good. And the back of my neck is like a fire engine. (Not kidding either, one of my girls asked if I had ever used sunscreen. Ahh!)

But I am supposed to go to Indianapolis on Friday for my cousin's graduation. It starts at 7. I would have to sit on bleachers for 3-4 hours to watch 800 something kids graduate. Not fun at all. Then her party is on Saturday from about 10-12. My other cousin is dying for me to come in. Not really wanting to drive 4 hours in crazy traffic because of the INDY 500 though.

If I stay, Josh's birthday is Friday. We are supposed to go out. All the KC girls are coming in town to visit. And Saturday Amy and Jill are having a housewarming party for their new townhouse. So the question is: Am I a horrible person if I don't go? I really want to see the fam, but I HATE driving and do not want to go and come back in like a day.

I am going to see DaVinci Code today. Hopefully it will be better than what the reviews say!

School's Out For Summer! (Almost, anyway!!!)

It is 2:36-- only 24 minutes left of classes for the year! We are watching an episode of Numb3rs. Why? Because the girls are crazy and high on sugar! And I do not feel like dealing with it! I cannot believe I made it through a year! I cried a little this morning after my last D period class. That is them above.

They are spelling INFORMAL and Sam is holding the Geometry book to say informal geometry. Yes, this is how we spent our last class. They are so out of it today. I cannot wait till next Friday at this time. Then I will be finished.

So this weekend is taking care of MOM because her surgery was yesterday. Today Amy and Jill are moving into the townhouse. So I get to help tonight. Plus, we are supposed go out tonight. Tomorrow there are 2 wedding showers, plus a bachelorette party. Sunday is Amy and Jill's birthday. I also have my cousin's wedding shower and school graduation. Somewhere in there I am supposed to write my exams and finish grading! Fun Fun!

Off to finish school and then our last "meeting" of the year. Time for Happy Hour!

No More Rain!

It really needs to stop raining! I would really like to go spend some time outside but NO! Mother Nature has decided to see if she can make us turn into giant prunes. Rain everyday. I miss the sun...

Today my mom was supposed to have her foot surgery. Being the daughter I am, I took today and tomorrow off school. So I slaved ALL week trying to get sub plans together for 2 days, uncluding two 2-hour classes today. It was a nightmare. Then, I got up at 5:50 this morning so that I could see my mom before she went into surgery. They called us back at 7:15-- 15 minutes before her surgery-- to see her. There was a little problem. Well, that little problem turned into not being able to have surgery becacuse the doctor's office did not send her physical results. Mom was furious. They have rescheduled for next Thursday (we think). That just means that my mom has to work herself up to be able to do this and she got shot down!

Well, one more week of normalcy here. Hopefully next week will turn out better!

So does anyone know why my blog starts down so low? What did I do? How do I fix it? Well, I'm off to enjoy my four day weekend!

SO TIRED

This was the longest weekend! We were off school on Friday, but I had stuff to do all day. Including seeing Amy's new townhouse--she closed Friday. It is really nice (except for the purple toned paint throughout, but that will go before they move in). Then there were the Cinco de Mayo festivities. Saturday I proctered an exam. Then spent 4 hours making dips for the Amy and Jill's parents' surprise 30th anniversary party. I helped set up and then enjoyed the party. It was great!

Yesterday was all recovery, plus I had to do school stuff to get ahead since I will be taking personal days on Thursday and Friday. My mom is having foot reconstruction on the right foot, so pray for her! And me since I get to drive her around ALL summer long.

Happy Birthday Kathleen Ann!

Finally, here are the Busch Stadium pictures. I had to get batteries for my camera, and I was way too busy to get to the store! Finally they are here though! This is the gorgeous shot of downtown from our seats which happened to be two rows from the top of the ballpark. Caution: do not go up there if you are afraid of heights. The escalators take you up and you have a nice view of a couple hundred feet down. It is a little creepy!

Here is the new screen outside the stadium. We were there for the Cubs series, so there it is: the BEST rivalry. Why? Because we do not beat people up or stalk them through the streets like they do in Boston and New York! I would like to report that we won this game 9-2 (I think, it might have been 3).

Happy birthday to Katie who turns the big 2-5!! Welcome to the second half of your 20s. It is a little depressing-atleast it was for me! Here is to Katie on her birthday! Above is her looking gorgeous on her wedding day last August! That was one of the premeires of the digital camera, so I do not have much more! Happy birthday to Katie! I will have a margarita for you tonight and tomorrow! We are off school tomorrow! It is a much needed day away from the crazy girls!

I will be leaving my office to go watch the soccer games against our big rivals, then on to softball with Amy and Jill (I think, depends on if it rains!) Then to dinner afterwards. Amy closes on her townhouse tomorrow, and then we pick out paint colors. And then Cinco de Mayo. Yumm... margaritas! I am off to enjoy soccer, lots of soccer!
