Prayers Please

I know that probably not too many people actually read my blog since I NEVER update. But I need to ask a favor of anyone who is out there reading.

One of my students -- Meagan, 17 years old, about to be a senior -- had a large tumor in her stomach. I believe 20x10x12 cm if I remember correctly. She had it removed last Tuesday. The family had a huge sigh of relief because the doctors were convinced that it was benign. Later that day, she bagan bleeding internally. Since then she has gone through 2 more surgeries, several blood clots, and a couple of very close calls where they were able to revive her with CPR.

The doctors believe that she is fairly stable now. They are hoping to allow her to wake up in the next couple of days. It is still scary. Her friends are a mess, of course, and I dealt with lots of tears when I ran into a couple at school today. Please keep Meagan, her family, and her friends in your prayers. She certainly needs them!

Why I never blog...

Here I am, a teacher on summer vacation. But I have more jobs now than I did then. Call me crazy because I probably am. Right now I am doing all of these things:
  • Watching a coworker's house for 2 and a half weeks. Watching the house involves watering her gardens. And that is not a small task. I have given up atleast 4 hours to it this week alone.
  • Planning for summer school next week. I have two 2-hour sessions every day. Should be easy but still a lot of prep.
  • Tutoring 5 different kids.
  • Working at Pomodoro's so that the owners can go on vacation.

All of this is making every day fly by. The housesitting ends this weekend. And it will be nice when summer school is over. But then the restaurant starts up. Why do I do this to myself?

The Cardinals are in a sad state. They were swept by the Royals. I cannot think of much worse. On to Boston, Detroit and KC again. Scary times.

I am off-- I got nail polish on a brand new pair of pants. I am working to clean it up. And I have a wedding reception tonight, so I have to find the necessary accessories. Happy weekend all!
