It is really hard to get back to the real world...

For the last two weeks, I have lived in a world of baseball and beer. Sometimes I threw a little teaching in, but mostly just baseball. I have been trying to catch up, but I just want to enjoy it all a bit longer. Here are some pictures from the world series game on thursday (which should have been game 5, but we will not dwell on that!)

Here is So Taguchi and the MVP David Eckstein during the celebration parade. And here is the trophy!

It's raining, it's pouring

So St. Louis has not seen rain in about 6 months, but now with the world series here, it is a monsoon. We need to get these games in. I am supposed to go tonight. We'll see how that goes... Don't think I need to say any more than this.

GO CARDS!!!

Another Day in Paradise

THE CARDINALS ARE ONE WIN AWAY FROM THE WORLD SERIES!!!
I am so excited. I was at the game on Saturday-- the one that was the Jeff Suppan show. I had to turn down the last two games because of stupid grades. Sometimes being a teacher is terrible. Oh well, I saved money. I do want to thank my student Anna for making nachos last night. Her family has a ridiculously good record when they make nachos. They did not make them for game 1 or game 4. For some reason, I do not think that is a coincidence. Nachos for all tonight!!!!

Right now I am sitting in a classroom proctoring standardized tests. Allow me to tell you nonteachers what that is like. Watching paint dry. Really really wet paint dry. We are at 2.5 hours with two more tests to go. It is terrible. The girls look like they are going to poke their eyes out with their pencils. And they are just poor little freshmen. They are not happy about this at all. But on the bright side, we finish in about an hour and then my day is free-- sort of.

Some of the teachers are going to visit our old secretary at work-- Cafe Manhattan, mmmm..... salad. They have the best. And milk shakes, and pizza. Mmmm.... I should have eaten breakfast. Then the volleyball team has their big rivalry game today, so I think that I am going to stop to see some. The freshmen play first, so I will atleast check them out, but the I move on the Cardinals. (I am sacrificing LOST for the Cardinals. My coworkers were not happy when I did it last week and said that I may do it again this week. But today they realized the volleyball game, so they are dropping our party. Volleyball over Cardinals???? Can you tell what kind of teacher I am.) Meeting up with Amy, Jill, and others, plus hopefully Jen. Oh, maybe we can go to the GasHouse. That could be fun.

By the way, congratulations to Katie from P'sghetti's who is pregnant and due in April (the first P'sghetti's grandchild!!), Kristi (formerly of P'sghetti's) who is expecting baby number 2 in May. Which brings the question-- are they due on holidays like everyone else I know? Two coworkers are due Christmas Day and New Years Day, Lauren is due Valentines Day, and Angie is Easter. Memorial Day? Forth of July? Anyone? Anyone?

THE HOUSE: So here is the story with the house. I love it. It is in south stl county. 3 bedrooms, 1 bath. It is 60 years old with only 2 previous owners. No kiddos in it ever, so there are the original doors and other stuff. The kitchen and bathroom have only been used aobut 5 months. they are both really nice except the BIG blue flowered wallpaper in the kitchen. And I am not a huge fan of the blue countertops, but I could survive. He is asking a little much for it because it needs a new roof, AC, furnace, and a couple other small things. So I am trying to talk him down. It has been a long ten days with school stuff and incidences that I have not really gotten to barter with him. Maybe tomorrow. Here are a couple more pictures!
Nevermind on the pics, Blogger is shutting me down when i try to download them. I will try later!

Things are nuts

Grades are due tomorrow, and I am really busy. And the Cardinals are playing tonight, so that is going to cut into my time. But, here is the house that I am in love with and trying to buy! I will let you know! Here is the front (with dad checking things out for me) and the kitchen. I did not show the really ugly wallpaper that would have to be immediately removed, but you get the idea. I have more, but this is all that I have time for atleast until grades are due!
