Cardinals game

I had the joy of watching the Cardinals cream the Cubs on Friday night - 9-3. Plus I got to see the new stadium for the first time. It was awesome! We sat two rows from the top! That was from our 4 game pack, so we will be there three more times. Actually, it was fun because Sarah and Shane were in the same section, and even in the same row. So we will get to have fun with them all season! Here are some of the sights of the game!

So I have been trying to get pictures up since Monday. My computer/jump drive and I are fighting. It is an all out brawl. I have even more pictures beccause I went to the game last night and sat in the field boxes! It was a blast. So far I am 2 for 2! We will see if the streak holds up on Saturday.

Thursday is the math conference day. Last night I saw a guy downtown (obviously in town for the conference) with a t-shirt that had the quadratic formula on it. That was it, nothing funny or anything. I am in fact a dorky math teacher with a math shirt, but mine has a joke. NOT just the quadratic formula. Who needs to see that out in public?? After all who could ever forget it? (some of you may actually remember it if your teacher was good enough to teach it by singing to the tune of Pop Goes the Weasel.) Anyway, tomorrow I get to miss school which is nice. Friday I intend to win the fight with the computer and jump drive to get pictures on here of the new ball park!

Cards vs. Cubs

Tonight is the first game of the Cardinals - Cubs series. I am headed to the NEW Busch Staduim for the first time this year. This is a picture of the stadium from the end of last season. Jill, Amy, and I got tickets for a four game pack and this is game one! Since it has been a long week- parent and psychologist meeting this morning, I am so ready to go! I can't wait to see the new ballpark in action. We are meeting at my place around 4:30 and heading down there. It should be a lot of fun! Tons of my students are going, so I should see some of them. Also planning a trip to find Mr. Dailey seeling his wares! Only about 9 hours to go! Pictures to come tomorrow...

Happy Easter

Spent this morning exhausted. Stayed out WAY too late last night for girls night and then Chris's 30th birthday. It was tons of people hanging out that I had not seen in forever. The boys were all crazy since they had been out playing since 2-- Demolition Ball killed them and helped then get drunk. We went to a couple bars to hand out, and then people headed back to Chris and Mike's. I was a driver, so I was taking people home and ended up crashing on a couch at 3 am. I had to get up at 6:45 to get home to make it to 8 am Mass with my mom. Otherwise, I graded papers and got caught up for deficiencies which are due noon on Tuesday. AH.. the life of a teacher. Aren't you all jealous? I am sure you are. Also realized I have Kris's keys that she left in my car in her jacket last night. I have to get them to her sometime tonight.

Uncle Mike, Jess and Chris came over around 3. As usual, it was just a small family gathering which was really nice. We watched the Cardinals beat the Reds with an Albert Pujols homerun in the bottom of the 9th. It was his 3rd of the day, including one that was followed by a Rolen homerun. It was a see-saw battle throughout the game. It was great though. Jason Marquis (our amazing pinch hitting starting pitcher) got a single and then Pujols smacked one out to left field to win it. After that, I hung out with Jess and Chris (first and third in the above picture). I missed the other two cousins-- wish they were here. Hopefully I will see them soon, I could use some Sarah time! Hope everyone had a good Easter!

Happy 5 day weekend!

I love being a teacher. Why? Because we get lovely holidays like this. We are off school Thursday, Friday, and Monday for Easter break. The girls were crazy this week, so it is a good thing we do not have to see them again. Pictured above is my beautiful new car. It is the replacement for when some jerk hit and totalled my cute little Saturn in a parking lot. So with only $800 dollars to pay on Susie, I had to say goodbye. So much for all the plans I had when my car payment was gone!

Anyway, I am a big fan of this car. It has the center spedometer panel. That was weird to get used to. When I turn on the left blinker, it is where the right blinker used to be. So that always gets me for a second. I also have to get used to having my automatic windows on the door like the rest of the world. I am just so used to the center controls for that! So yesterday I stood in line at the DMV to register my car-- that was ridiculous. It took over an hour. The workers were VERY slow. Things worked out, I sold them my unborn children in exchange for the tax, and now I have plates for my car.

Monday was the Cardinals home opener. They won! Homeruns were hit by Pujols and Mulder (his first in the major leagues). We have tickets for next Friday against the Cubs. I cannot wait to see the new stadium! Plus, its been a long winter without baseball!

Cardinals Opening Day!

This is my back yard. Sunday night when the storms rolled through. Actually, there were no storms in Crestwood-- just some wind. Obviously some big wind. There were about 3 big gusts of wind. We were in the basement because the tornado sirens were going off. Then there was a thud. The root ball is over 6 feet across. It snapped roots that were atleast 6 inches in diameter. It pulled the electric, including meter off of the house. So the fam is without electricity. We have extension cords running from the neighbors to run the refrigerators. Other than that, it is back to the dark ages. It is interesting. No idea when things will be back in working order. I hate drying my hair, but when I cannot, I really want to.

Yesterday should have been a GREAT day since it was the start of the Cardinals season! Actually it had its moments. The Cardinals won 13-4. Pujols hit 2 homeruns to the upper deck and Rolen hit a grand slam. Carpenter did great. So hopefully this is a sign of a great year! I am so excited. Tonight is first game at the new Busch Staduim. The memphis Redbirds are playing the Springfield Cardinals. Should be lots of fun.
